A vacation every once in a while...

...is always nice. This past week was Spring Break. It's one of the many time off perks that keep me in the education profession. Benefits aside, this vacation was more like a working vacation. With our first child on the way, my wife and I have decided to relocate to New Orleans, her hometown. It will put us closer to our parents and give us a much needed network to help with the new addition's arrival. We looked for hospitals, places to stay, and possible places of employment. That took up the first four days of the "vacation." The last three were spend in Gulf Breeze, Florida.

Great things happen whenever my wife and I go on vacation. I get good pictures. We eat great food. We have fun. We have revelations. We have decided that we are not going to work for a living much longer. We both have extraordinary talents that we can benefit from immensely. We want to be free like our bird friend in the first picture and live places where the view from our front door is similar to the content of the second picture. No one ever reflects while on their deathbeds and regrets not spending more time at work. I want to break free now. Taking pictures makes me happy, writing makes me happy, traveling makes me happen. It's time to find a way to make those things benefit me and my family. Instead of wondering what you can do to earn everyone's approval, find out what makes you happy, truly happy, and do that. Peace.

  1. The second shot is really amazing.

Congratulations on your (soon-to-be) new addition! I'm sure it will be great to move to New Orleans, and be near family.

I hope you keep blogging. I enjoy reading your stories and looking at your pictures.

BTW- I tagged you! Check out my blog for the details.
